When you think of 3rd Rock I’m sure you think of the sitcom on NBC that got cut. Well Patch Adams, Ace Money and Nice who make up 3rd Rock straight out of the actual Brooklyn building 3rd Rock. This music group, (and I when I say music group I do mean music group) are not trying to get cut from making what they call, “music for the soul” anytime soon. The three Bedford-Stuyvesant cohorts have an enigmatic chemistry that they themselves can not even describe when placed in the booth of Patch’s basement studio. At the very young ages these artists influenced by the likes of Hova, B.I.G. and Pac understand that back in the day people were considered dope even if they didn’t sell multi-platinum albums. Patch Adams is cool with not selling a million, but if people respect the music that’s all he and his crew can ask for. “Right now somebody can be nice, but if they don’t sell its over.” When asked what this trio has seen and want to let the world now, Ace Money states, “Being younger than 21, I’ve lived a 30 year-olds life. Which brought me to wonder does this generation even have time to enjoy their period as adolescents before they are forced to become adults, no one told these young men 18 is the new 30.
3rd Rock constructs an in your face, hands on music which is created to stimulate all 5 senses, so when you close your eyes you can see it, feel it, taste it, and even smell it and the microphone is their paintbrush. These are three individuals who at times will write and or freestyle a verse that is just as good if not better than the penned bars. Even though they like many other groups are not trying to get boxed in, when asked who they are comparable to they mentioned the LOX because of how each individual although flows differently they were able to vibe off of and challenge each other to push each other to a higher level, which ultimately should be one of the goals of music; whether it’s about being excited, introspective, free flowing or guarded, 3rd Rock is to here to be as solid as the next group from the production all the way down to the show and they are well on their way.

Great article! The essence of the group was truly captured. I believe 3rd rock has that star quality that you can only find in true MC’s; from their lyrics to their swagga. These little dudes are going places!!!
