Editor’s Note

Editor's Note > – May 5, 2008 – by ease del.icio.us Digg

It’s safe to say that Scheme is doing exactly what it was created to do. Usually we have to look for the stories and decide what and if there will be a theme for each issue, not this time. We we’re blessed with writers from different locations in the U.S. that when they thought about a real story and who they wanted to give it to they thought of Scheme. Of course there are plenty of print publications that receive pitches on a daily basis, I even make some. However, when we start receiving gifts like in-depth interviews with Questlove, Jose James and B+ it makes my job a lot easier, and it makes our team feel like Scheme’s message of honest journalism with integrity and a sense of humor lets us know that there is still an audience that cares more about the story than the images and more about who the artists are at their core and aren’t concerned with the last person they’ve dated or the last car they bought. We are taking the road less traveled but people are taking notice and it helps us to continue to do what we do with the goal of one day you consuming us on a news stand near you. Thanks to Donald Ely for another dope cover!
