Hey Hip-Hop:

We made it!!! One year into this crazy industry and it’s been a ride with a lot of bumps and bruises, plenty of lessons and highs that make us want to quit our 9-5’s[oops we did]. First I’d like to thank all the writers whether you contributed one or fifteen pieces to the mag, your work is very much appreciated. To the strong developing core of writers we have moving forward, keep doing your thing and asking the tough questions. When we started this a year ago it only dawned on me from a comment that we started this magazine during Black History Month, and on the verge of that realization we hope we have made some history and will continue to make more in this year and years to come.

On a side note thank you to our business director/partner Khary Campbell who lets me truly do me and deal with my stubbornness when it comes to the direction of this magazine.

To the readers, keep reading and keep sharing your thoughts and ideas on our columns, reviews and interviews, we value and appreciate them. We are working towards a new look for the new year as well that will hopefully begin this month.

About this issue, we have individuals that have made history and individuals whose goal is to make some. With the likes of, Peanut Butter Wolf and DJ Rhettmatic mixed with the up and coming like Mickey Factz, Illmind and the mythological Jay Electronica 2008 is sure to be filled with some good culture and when it gets rough Scheme will be sure to keep the light shining. Special thanks goes to James Blagden for the dope cover.

I have to shout out my New York Football Giants if they are any indication of what is possible they show and proved last night!!!

Finally, thank you to my wife…you push me when I don’t want to write, interview or make the three hour train rides to meet artists only to return that same day. I pray I’m leading us in the right direction and supporting you equally if not more in your dreams as well.

Stay Up!

Congratulations Scheme! One year and counting….

Thank you for exposing the unexposed and asking the questions that others don’t. I think I can speak on behalf of your readers, when I say that we truly appreciate your committment to continuously build upon (as opposed to moving away from) the foundations of our hip-hop culture.

Keep up the good work and I look forward to growing with you!

Actually, Schememag, thank you! I can honestly say there is no better read on the net than you guys.

I only discovered you about 5 months ago, I have read every issue.

Keep bringing that hot S***, you are off center, on the pulse, underground, above board, on mainstream, a true asset to Hiphop and the black community in diaspora and for us in the Motherland.

Much love to my homies Dale & Khary. Scheme has been that much needed voice and at times calm, that our generation is really in need of at this time. Also I would like thank you as well as the other writers for keeping me focused and passionate about this craft. Obama 08′ bitches!!!

if scheme was a musician, i’d buy all ur albums, be front row at concerts singing all the lyrics, with my hands in the air, and id have ur posters on my walls. to combine music with an analytical standpoint is so beautiful and ridiculously needed. you ask questions and give us readers things to think about. i believe you will be here for years. thank you!
