What up Hip Hop, in this 3rd issue of Scheme Mag, we want to keep pushing the envelope in terms of opening the window of what hip hop is to the point where hip hop can not be defined and sectioned and purely looked at as a musical entity. We emphasize this point loud and clear with interviews with hip hop musicians, (I call them musicians because when their careers are no longer, that’s what they want to go down as, not just hip hop artists) Detroit native Black Milk and of course in the in depth interview we had in New York with producer Om’Mas of Sa-Ra, of Kanye West’s label, thanks to Shannon Evans for the dope photos. We also have some dope artists who are featured, like Jose Mertz, who not only works for the clothing line Parish Nation but has his own line of artwork that stands on its own. It’s something that should be recognized in a world of computerized graphics. In addition to that we have Edgar “Mouse” Munoz of CHIEFROCKA whose pure focus is to preserve the original message and purpose of hip hop and when you check his line out you will understand.
In the next two weeks of this issue we will also have interviews with Wale Oyejide, a podcast interview with Odissee, an interview the filmmaker tandem T H E Agytators, and a hip hop group out of Cali called U-N-I. We will also have an interview with the author’s of the book Bling. As always check our critical minded section we have more stuff for you guys to think about and question, Chad Quinn hit us with with “1 Strike theory”. Stay tuned for daily news updates.
