Rahsaan: On the Road with A Fly Guy Part #1

“MC.” What does it mean? There are many definitions: Mic Controller, Master of Ceremony, or in the words of the legendary Rakim Allah, “MC means Move The Crowd. I’ve been an MC since I wrote my first rhyme at twelve years old. And now I’ve been blessed with an opportunity to take what have I done for so long, just by shear love and enjoyment, and display for 10’s of thousands of true Hip Hop fans. Through the workings of my dude Phil Anastasia, our MC collective known as THE OUTFIT (www.myspace.com/sisbest) have just been added to the ROCK THE BELLS TOUR. How convenient this is, coming two months after I took on the roll of LL COOL J at an 80’s Baby Inudstry Party at MIAMI LIVE on South Beach, Florida, where I actually performed the song ‘Rock The Bells.’ (They say Rahsaan is hard as……; battle ANYBODY I don’t care if you…..). This year’s tour has Nas, ATCQ, De La… so on and so on. And I get to perform in front of those audiences. In between the RTB dates, we [The Outfit] got a few spot dates with Raekwon & Ghostface Killah. Tomorrow night is the first show. New York City; Times Square; BB KINGS; Hip Hop Music. I remember being a spectator in BB KINGS watching M.O.P. create the frenzies they’re known for. When the Godzilla-horns of Pharaoe Monch’s “Get the Fuck Up” beleted from the house speakers, I made sure I got the fuck up and right in front of the stage. Now I’m going from observer to performer. In my rise as a hip hop artist you can’t count the amount of shows I’ve done. As I sit here writing this from a remote location in Brooklyn, I’m piecing together my show music in my head for my performance tonight at the T.O.U.R. Magazine Re-launch party. This time tomorrow, things will be on a different level, and the same crowds that are coming to see Rae & Ghost get busy, will also get a taste of Rahsaan, A Fly Guy, the MC.

RAHSAAN is more than an artist, but rather an ARCHITECT of music. He builds skyscraper tracks out of beats and lyrics, molding them with insight only a genius could deliver.

What a great artist!! They say “Hip Hop is dead”, but I think u got to find the right MC. Rahsaan is a true storyteller. Keep up the good work and eventually it will pay off.
What is art? Despite the murky waters of hyper-commercialism, Rah’Saan is an MC that has emerged with the courage to spit his story with true honesty and passion, which is the pinnacle of an artist. I look forward to the future growth and creativity as well as the footprint he will leave on the industry and hip hop as a whole.

I’ve watched this man put it down on stage for the last year or so, and he never ceases to amaze me. RahSaan performs every show like its his last, whether it’s for 3 people or 30,000.
