June 18, 2008 – 4pm – BB KINGS – NYC
The sun is blazin. The streets are crowded. Times Square is in its usual state of congestion. And THE OUTFIT has just gotten to sound check. It’s 4 hours till showtime, and we’re backstage pollyin’ with Capadonna and a few other Staten islanders about the format. Meanwhile, I’m envisioning the performance in my mind: the crowd reactions: the beats: the mics: the lyrics. Everything has to be on point. Tonight is the first leg of our Tour Within A Tour. This will be a good indication of how we’re gonna Rock The Bells.
Fast forward to 8PM. The doors are open and the crowd is starting to fill the room. “WU-TANG!” “WU-TANG!” That’s all the crowd yells as they try to wait patiently for the Cappadonna & Raekwon to hit the stage. But before they touchdown, the crowd gets warmed-up by Minister Farrakhan’s granddaughter, a pair of MC’s called The Scholars, Big NOYD from Mobb Deep and of course us, The Outfit. Everyone present with the exception of FUGEE; Dyverse the 1st, yours truly aka Iceman, The Last American B-Boy, Lounge Lo, King Jus, and the mastermind behind the whole squad, Mr. Phil Anastasia.
Special K from Awesome Two announces The Outfit to come to the stage and Dyverse and Phil walk out to greet the packed house. The beat to Phil’s solo joint “The Coliseum” blasts from the house speakers and he tears into his verses. I stand off stage adlibbing to the joint, out of sight from the crowd, waiting…
Then it happens. The soundman drops the beat to the crew joint called “THE OUTFIT” and the rest of us take the stage, walking right up to the crowd. I’m loving this shit right now. As Dyverse begins to kick his verse I know I only got about 20 bars to take in this feeling. My adrenalin is pumpin’. I can’t believe it. I’m standing on stage at BB KINGS, where many legends have also stood and rocked crowds. I smile at the chicks in the crowd. Throw head nods to the dudes, and then I go into my verse. “Introducing the ICEMAN, Fuck You I’m nice man.”
I put one of my black and yellow dunks on top of the stage monitor and just start spittin.’ By the time I get to end of my verse I can see the reactions from people in the crowd, who are like, Oh shit, these nigga can really rhyme The rest of the crew all execute their verses perfectly. And what became the highlight of the performance for me is when, The Last American B-Boy jumped into his record called “B-Boy.” This cat rhymed this song like it was last performance he was ever gonna do in life. Then the chorus comes… “You aint a muthafuckin’ b-boy”.
Phil adds to the madness with his verse and 9 and a half minutes after we stormed the stage, we all laid the mics down, threw peace signs to the cheering crowd and exited stage left. We spent the rest of the night getting love from everyone in the spot. THE OUTFIT is here, and the Rock The Bells tour is in for some real hip-hop shit.

My cousin who is also a fan checks your websites all the time just to see whats new in your wardrobe. He made me buy him the NIKEHEAD shirt yesturday. (influence)
Where does this tour take you next?
I WiSh I was there…only performances like these leave you w goosebumps and even though I wasn’t there to witness it, your words took me to the stage, front and center. I’m lovin that regardless of what Soundscan leads ppl to blieve is hot, artists like you are able stick to what’s real HIP-HOP…It never died, was just mistaken as a trend and got pushed to the side but like most things history repeats itself so keep workin hard, it will soon pay off and Mr. A&R will be kicking down YOUR door, sittin in YOUR living room and hanging out at YOUR parties…
p.s. that’s a crazy shirt lol

You painted the picture so nice I felt like I was in the spot that night. More or less I almost felt like I was on stage lookin at the crowd vibin and swayin body the motions to the music. You are what most should call “a necessity” to the industry.
